Reach for the Stars Planetarium
The “Reach for the Stars” Planetarium is located in the middle building of the complex and contains three different theaters with a seating capacity of 300 per theater. The 75-foot dome displays an accurate and impressive digital universe.
In addition to IMAX productions showing and featuring space exploration, astronomical documentaries and movies, laser shows are shown throughout the year along with a Laser Holiday Magic Show accompanied by current and classic Christmas songs and carols.
Planetarium-sponsored events and activities include moon hikes to witness solstices, equinoxes, and phases of the moon. Star parties are another popular activity where individuals can gather together at a remote location where stargazing is the most optimal. Individuals and/or families bring their telescopes to stargaze and search for celestial phenomena. This event is led by an experienced astronomer who points out constellations, auroras, moon features, meteor showers, and provides important and interesting facts.
Please note: Whereas some of the Planetarium-sponsored events are free or at a reduced cost, the IMAX productions, movies and laser shows are priced at certain rates. Contact us for ticket information.
